Photojournalism is a specialized art form that has told billions of stories ever since the first camera was invented. Famous photojournalists, including the Civil War’s Mathew Brady, to Vietnam War shooter Eddie Adams; Henri Cartier-Bronson to Gordon Parks and thousands of others have made their mark with their unique story telling photography.
Dan Murphy, the Photographer’s photojournalism mark was with small town newspapers, including a paper in Gallup, New Mexico, the Navajo Indian Reservation and Ventura County newspapers — along with special assignments for other publications, magazines and wire services. Famous news events were non-existent for Dan, but he developed into a competent “features photographer,” telling stories that meant a lot to the local community. Photographing sports and creating great images for the advertising departments helped achieve success during Dan’s newspaper and magazines tenure. Dan Murphy’s photojournalism training and expertise has enabled him to develop a unique flair for many other venues of photography.
